Lake Schwarzsee

The tour starts at the Hotel Quelle and continues to the Talschlusshütte in St. Magdalena/Gsies. There, follow the signpost “No. 47/48” over the new bridge, turn left immediately and after the “Schlosser Hof” turn left again, before turning right after a few meters and finding yourself on the well-known Almweg 2000 trail with the “No. 12” sign. After about 90 minutes, you will come to the turnoff (1,930 m) to our well-known Uwaldalm (2,042 m). However, continue straight ahead up the valley, past the Pfoi Alm (2,040 m), and after about 1/2 km, turn right onto the “Schmugglersteig” trail marked “No. 12,” which leads us in narrow switchbacks to the important fork in the trail at 2,239 m. A conspicuous boulder marks the trail. The path marked “No. 13” leads to Hinterschartl and then slightly downhill to Schwarzsee (2,455 m). There you can enjoy one of the most idyllic mountain lakes in the Puster Valley.
