The earth pyramids at Percha
The most significant incidence of earth pyramids in the Puster Valley
Several hundred years ago, there was a landslide, which cut off an existing cart track. This route was not an important one and so nobody filled in the gap with earth. In 1882, there was a great storm and a large trench formed. Through flooding and washing out of the side slopes, these pillar structures remained standing where the heavier stones lay.
