Tauern Alm

From Kasern (parking area), follow the old valley trail, which runs well below the main road, for about 20 minutes on mostly level terrain to the small hamlet of Prastmann (1,623 m). Continue on the wide service road through the valley floor to the huts further inside the valley. Just beyond the huts, follow the wide path for a few more minutes until you reach the marked Tauern Trail, which branches off to the left (various signposts). This trail then leads moderately steeply uphill through partly bush-covered, partly open grassy slopes to the Tauern Alm.
