Niederhofer Alm

From the village center of St. Johann im Ahrntal (1020 m), follow trail marker 6 (initially also 33) and the signs for “Niederhoferalm.” First walk through the village to its eastern edge (Festhalle). From there, take the farm access road that leads uphill mostly through meadows to Gruber Hof. Continue along one more bend of the farm road until you reach the forest. From there, take the shortcut footpath (marker 6) branching off to the right and climb up to near Sandbichler Hof. From this point, you can either take the shorter but steeper footpath or the longer, less steep forest road, following the respective signposts, both leading without difficulty up to Niederhofer Alm (1603 m).
