Lenkjöchl
The refuge is on the highest point of one of the most beautiful hiking tours in the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park.
From the village of Casere (Kasern) in Valle Aurina follow Trail No. 11 down to the Talbach River. Then follow the trail that leads you on both sides of the river up to Rötkreuz Mountain. Continue, in a long moderately increasing and level walk, through Röttal Valley and passing the Rötalm alpine pasture (2,116 m) and finally, partly over moraines, walk up to the Lenkjöchlhütte mountain hut (2,590 m). Descent: From the hut choose Trail No. 12, which is steep, northwards down through Windtal Valley in a long but beautiful hike that moderately descends out of the valley and down to the huts of the Labesau Alm alpine pasture (1,757m). From there, continue down on the access road through alpine slopes to Santo Spirito (Heiliggeist) Chapel; from there, follow the old valley path along the orographical right side of the Talbach River, back to Casere; 2.5 hours from the hut.
