Kofler lakes
Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Rieserferner Group, these two small alpine lakes offer a peaceful and scenic destination for hikers.
Our hike starts in Rein in Taufers and takes us along a short section of the well-known Arthur Hartdegen Trail, then across the Kofler Alpine pastures to the Kofler Lakes, where the glaciers of the Rieserferner Group are reflected: Hochgall, Magerstein, and Schneebiger Nock dominate the landscape. We then descend steeply through the pristine, secluded Sossental valley into the Knuttental valley, where we follow a wide track downhill back to our starting point. The majority of the route leads through the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park
